Anthony Dobson

Anthony’s interest in Formula One meant evenings were spent drawing fast cars rather than doing his homework – a rebellion which paid off when his first painting sold in 1989. Anthony turned down a place at university to study Graphic Design to work on the commissions which followed from private individuals, car manufacturers and racing personalities. As well as painting commissions, Anthony has worked on the business side of the art world as a framer, printer and publisher which has added to his keen eye for colour, line, and form.

Although motorsport remained an obsession for many years, he has recently taken a dramatic departure from his usual subject and created a stunning and characterful collection of wildlife themed limited edition prints on canvas. Working primarily in oils, Anthony’s signature ‘detailed yet not overworked’ style is retained and used to great effect in this latest stunning collection.
