Ashleigh Bishop
Ashleigh Bishop opened his gallery in the Medieval village of Dunster in 1995 offering a wide selection of work by local artists and some from further afield.
Nearly 30 years later, on a quiet February afternoon in 2024, Ashleigh decided to pick up a pencil and sketch to amuse himself. What started as one drawing of his local High Street has now become a collection of pictures featuring local scenes after customers reacted so favourably to them on seeing his sketchbook.
Ashleigh is learning as he goes and, as he’s surrounded by so many interesting places, hasn’t run out of inspiration yet! Most importantly, he’s getting a great deal of enjoyment from drawing and it’s exciting for him to have something he’s created on sale in his gallery.
These original pencil drawings have been framed and are available to purchase from his gallery and online. Many of these pencil drawings are also available as greetings cards and notelets.
